Hey CRKD Family!
We're excited to release the v2 Xbox Guitar Controller Firmware Update!
This update delivers important fixes, meaningful improvements, and unlocked customization options.
Please update to the latest version of the CRKD App before installing this firmware. Your app MUST be up to date to ensure full compatibility with the unlocked CRKD CTRL features.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: If you update your Xbox guitar controller through the CRKD App, your dongle will automatically update the first time it connects and pairs with the guitar after the update. During this process, do not interrupt the update. The dongle will fast-blink green to indicate it's updating, and once finished, both the guitar controller and dongle will reboot.
Prefer updating on PC? A Windows firmware launcher is available at https://crkd.gg/firmware. If you update via the Windows PC Updater then you will need to update both the guitar and dongle separately.

v2.0 [Xbox] UPDATE NOTES
The following notes detail the changes introduced in Xbox Guitar Controller firmware update v2.0.
These updates carry over to newer versions unless stated otherwise. For example, v2.1 would include all updates from v2.0, along with its own new improvements.
What's new?
ACCESS TO CRKD CTRL FEATURES:
This update enables full compatibility with CRKD CTRL inside the CRKD App, allowing you to fully customize key inputs on your guitar controller. You can remap the fret buttons, strum bar, whammy bar, D-Pad, CTRL button, and tilt sensor, as well as disable the D-Pad entirely and turn off the 8-button nav hub. Additional adjustable settings include strum bar sensitivity, tilt activation angle, RGB fret-neck lighting, and strum bar haptic feedback strength for the Blueberry Burst model.
This update also supports our Pro Tune Beta, a feature set built for expert players in community-created games. In wired PC mode only, you can fine-tune parameters like polling rate directly from your guitar through the CRKD App.
This marks the first beta phase of Pro Tune, Phase 2 will bring deeper optimization and even more control.
BLUETOOTH CONNECTION TYPE TOGGLE:
When your guitar is in Bluetooth pairing mode, the default connection type is Android. You can now switch to iOS / PC mode either manually or directly within the app.
Note: iOS / PC Bluetooth Mode is a user-initiated choice and not a factory default setting.
Manual Toggle Process:
Switch to BT X-Input (iOS / PC):
- With the guitar powered OFF, hold CAPTURE and power it on.
- LEDs will flash purple twice indicating BT X-Input mode enabled
Switch back to Android BT:
- While the guitar controller is OFF, repeat the same process.
- LEDs will flash teal twice indicating Android BT mode restored
CRKD App Toggle Process:
From the CRKD CTRL Dashboard or Input page, toggle between Android and iOS/PC Bluetooth.
FESTIVAL MODE:
A new dedicated “Festival Mode” has been added only compatible when your guitar controller is set to XB (Xbox) on the input slider and Mode 1 on the Mode Dial.
When Festival Mode is enabled and connected to Xbox, the guitar mimics native Fortnite Festival configuration and is also compatible with RB4.
Note: Festival Mode is a user-initiated choice and not a factory default setting and can be toggled on or off at anytime.
Manual Toggle Process:
Activate Festival Mode:
- While your guitar controller is OFF, Hold CTRL button and power on the guitar.
- LEDs flash purple twice indicating Festival Mode ON.
Deactivate / Return to Standard Mode:
- While the guitar controller is OFF, repeat the same process.
- LEDs flash teal twice indicating Factory Standard Mode Restored.
CRKD App Toggle Process:
From CTRL Dashboard or Inputs page toggle the Festival Mode Toggle On
When Festival Mode is enabled, customization via the App for the fret buttons, strum bar, whammy bar, CTRL button, and tilt activation inputs is disabled to ensure full compatibility. However, users can still customize D-Pad inputs.
MODE 9:
Mode 9 functions differently depending on the input setting selected on the input slider.
RB4 Mode: When set to XB, Mode 9 becomes RB4 Mode, optimized for Rock Band 4 on Xbox. To use it, set the input slider to XB, connect to your Xbox, and turn the mode dial to Mode 9.
KeyJam Mode: When set to PC, Mode 9 becomes KeyJam Mode, mapping the guitar controller as a gaming keyboard and mouse.
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS:
- General stability and performance enhancements.
- Minor bug fixes.
- Dongle performance.

HOW TO INSTALL:
To install the latest firmware, you can do so via CRKD CTRL. First update to the newest version of the CRKD App by heading to https://go.crkd.gg/app on your smartphone, or search for CRKD in your preferred app store to download the latest version.
